BEACHES

The Algarve coastline is utterly unique and completely breathtaking.

The nearest beaches are a five-minute drive away, an endless stretch of sand and wonderful waves. Along the coast, more beautiful beaches can be explored in the surrounding areas.

To the north, you can find Arrifana, Monte Clerigo, Amoreira, Odeceixe and Amado and Bordeira and Castelejo, all only a short drive away with our closest beaches are Praia do Canal and Vale da Figueiras.

An easy drive to any of the beaches on the south coast can be found between Sagres and Portimao with great rock formations and grottos. Spend the day exploring and chose your favorite spot each one individually unique and fantastic.

Further down the coast are the best surf spots, great restaurants right on the beach and vast stretches of shoreline to observe the crashing waves mighty and beautiful.

The Costa Vicentina track has wonderful facilities for coastal walks or take the fishermens track right along the cliffs.

This area is especially beautiful in spring when the hills are covered with yellow, purple and white flowers, the bright colors of the wildflowers filling the air with lavender and lemon scent.

TOWNS AND VILLAGES

Our closest village is Aljezur, around 9 kms away, a traditional Portuguese country town in the Algarve region. It claims to be the best and biggest producer of Portugal's sweet potatoes.

The old Moorish castle tells a story from the past when Aljezur's river was big and all the country's goods were brought up to Lisbon and other places by ship.

Take a short drive to Sagres, to see and feel the sensation of the most south-westerly point of Europe. The beach walk reveals the lighthouse, and down to the fort where there was the school for seafarers where Vasco de Gama started off. You can also find a small fishing harbour on the left side with beautiful views across the bay.

, Within the old town where the Bishop once lived there is the old church which is a small museum to explore the history of the region.

Sagres is definitely worth a visit and with the added bonus of a great seafood restaurant on your drive through Vasco de Gama serving the local speciality of 'Perceives', a delicacy hard to find.

Along the South Coast, you will pass little villages and beaches on the way to Lagos, a beautiful tourist town with lots to offer.

Venture through local markets, boutique shops, coastal grottos, a fortress, and the option to stroll along the canal with more little shops on the way to the marina where you can partake in the vibing nightlife.

Another route can bring you to the mountain town of Monchique, famous for their special wooden chairs still handmade in the area. Not far, you can drive on to Silves, which was the biggest city during the occupation of the Moors filled with remains from the Romans and the Moors still today.

Finally a small trip to the town Portimao which is busy and famous for its history of traditional Portuguese Sardines factories.

MOUNTAINS

Explore our stunning landscape by hiking or biking up in the rolling hills into the Sierra de Monchique, housed in the hills you will find a little mountain town where at the highest point 'Foia" you can see breathtaking views right down the south coast, over to Sagres, and up to the west coast.
